Background in Website Design
Several years ago before I learned how to build websites myself, I had a resume writing business and hired a website designer to build my site for me. The website was beautiful but, it was built using Dreamweaver which at the time, seemed like a very complicated program.
When I was ready to make changes to my content or rates on my site, I watched hours of tutorials on using the program for tweaking my website but it was just all too complicated for me to make the changes. So I reached out to my webmaster and she charged me $100 to make the changes that probably only took her 5-10 minutes to complete – Ykes!
That’s when I decided I wanted to learn how to make websites myself and I chose to learn WordPress.org (self hosted platform). All these years later, I now have quite a lot of experience with WordPress but, it’s a lot more complicated for clients to manage and make their own edits if they don’t already have experience with WordPress. And, there are regular updates to themes and plugins and, you need to ensure that it’s backed up too. So, that’s why we offer a monthly maintenance package.

I come from a sales and customer service background and so I value a collaborative partnership where communication and follow up are the cornerstones of that relationship. We begin our journey with a strategy call so that I can understand your business as well as your goals and vision for your website.
Once we agree to work together, you provide me with the content, your logo, branding colours, images and I’ll get to work. I’ll provide you with weekly updates on the progress of your website build and, I’m available to answer questions throughout the duration of the project and to make revisions along the way.
I am also experienced with search engine optimization and local SEO and have experience with getting client websites to that coveted first page of Google for their chosen keywords so, I will ensure that all the elements of “on-page SEO” are in place for you as well as your internal linking structure. Then, I’ll teach you how to update your site so you can take care of the basics yourself. The project timeline is generally 4-8 weeks to completion, depending on my project load at any given time.
